I would like to share with you a part of my life that has developed me into the artist that I am today.
Let me take you back to the early part of the 1980's, traveling north bound on the 5 freeway from San Diego heading to the Irvine Amphitheater for a concert I was to photograph. At the concert awaits a photographer’s pass for me, one small problem...
I had never shot a camera before!
As I learned how to use the camera (Canon AE1) on the way to the concert, I started to believe that I really was a photographer. Well that night changed my life.
The outcome of the concert was a great photograph that was published in my first magazine. The next 10 years of photographing performing artists would add to the list of publications including, Happening Magazine, San Diego Profile Magazine, World Metal Magazine (Hollywood), and Pulse Magazine (Tower Records). With 3 album covers, 6 cover photos (one internationally published) and over 45 published photos, I felt it was time to expand my career.
Moving to Aspen, Colorado I signed on as a photographer at the world famous ski resort. Over the next 11 years I would develop my talents in wedding photography and family portraits. Oh yeah my snowboarding skills also got pretty good. This part of my life focused my desires on family orientated photography.
I realized this was my passion when I was photographing a young couple exchanging their wedding vows on top of a snowy mountain surrounded by the most incredible views. Now whether I'm photographing a wedding on top of the world, on a beautiful sandy beach or in a romantic church, my passion is reflected in the art that I create.
